YouTube videos have been viewable in 4K since 2010, but today YouTube expanded its 4k capabilities by launching 4k streaming options.
Tomorrow's Game Awards will be the first major streaming event to take advantage of the new streaming clarity on YouTube. On its blog announcing the update, YouTube is touting the quality of the 4k writing, "4K video isnít just a little different from HD video; itís a giant leap." The 4k streaming option also extends to 360 degree video.
This doesn't affect me much as I haven't yet entered the world of 4k yet, but the (admittedly expensive) prospect of entering this new visual world is getting more enticing by the day.
